The place
The Calore River cuts through a sequence of limestone gorges outside Felitto. The Remolino area is the most practical starting point: it gives access to the river, short walks and guided activities without committing to a full-day hike.
A river landscape, not a swimming pool
The appeal lies in the changing relationship between water and rock. Gravel banks, narrow passages and shaded pools look calm in summer, but the river can change quickly after rain.
Treat the marked access points as the start of a natural environment. Conditions underfoot and the safe amount of time near the water depend on weather and river flow.
Planning a useful visit
Allow at least two hours for a short walk and time by the river. Guided canoeing and longer routes need separate booking and should not be assumed to run every day.
Felitto is a good base for lunch, but services become limited once you descend towards the gorge. Carry water and do not rely on mobile coverage.

Getting there

Regional buses reach Felitto only on limited schedules. The final section normally requires a taxi or a pre-arranged local transfer.
