Cilento in one day: gorges and an abandoned village
A realistic route between the Calore River and Roscigno Vecchia, with enough time for the inland roads.
Start with the river
Reach the Remolino access in the morning, after checking river and operator conditions. Allow two to three hours rather than treating the gorge as a photo stop.
Do not enter the water after rain and keep dry clothes in the car.
Continue to Roscigno Vecchia
The inland drive takes longer than the map suggests. Use the old village for a quiet afternoon walk through the square, lanes and museum when open.
Never enter unstable buildings. Finish before mountain fog or winter darkness complicates the return.
