The place
Monte Faito rises from the Lattari Mountains above the coast. Forest roads, ridge paths and viewpoints offer cooler air, but weather and transport change quickly with altitude.
A mountain above the coast
Faito is not one single viewpoint. Choose a marked walk and keep enough time to return before the cable-car or local service ends.
Cloud can erase the view and temperatures are often much lower than in Castellammare. Carry a layer even on warm coastal days.
Plan the visit
Use the seasonal cable car from Castellammare or drive via Vico Equense, then follow marked routes. Parking is scattered around the plateau and busiest on summer weekends.
Trails are open subject to weather; cable-car dates and times are seasonal. Fog and wind can arrive quickly.
Before you go
- • Check the official website for opening times, closures and booking rules.
- • Save the return route and allow extra time for local transport.
- • Conditions can change after bad weather or during public events.
