Best time

Spring and early summer, subject to rainfall and safe access.

The place

The Bussentino stream drops below a small stone bridge and breaks into thin curtains of water covered by maidenhair fern. The visit is short, making it easy to combine with Casaletto Spartano or another stop near the Gulf of Policastro.

Why the waterfall feels different

Water, stone and dense vegetation sit within a very small area. You do not need a long hike to reach the main view, but moisture makes the paths and steps slippery throughout the year.

The flow changes with rainfall. Spring normally offers the best balance between water and comfortable temperatures.

Keep the stop in proportion

Most visitors need about an hour. Add time only if you plan to walk around the managed area or continue towards the village.

Seasonal admission and access arrangements can change, so check the municipality or operator rather than relying on old social posts.

Before you go

  • Check the official channel for current access rules and closures.
  • Save the route before leaving: mobile coverage can be unreliable.
  • Allow extra time for parking, the last admission and the return journey.

Getting there

Reach the Capello area from Casaletto Spartano using the municipal road, then follow the signed pedestrian path.

Parking

Parking is available near the entrance and may fill early on busy days.

Public transport

Regional buses reach the municipality, not the waterfall entrance.
